Learning Experience Design is a six credit hour course offered over the entire academic year. This course requires students complete a residency within the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI). As part of their residency, students are immersed in a professionally-oriented experience while collaboratively supervised by U-M faculty and CAI experts to design, analyze, and implement innovative experiences and tools in online and in-person learning environments. In addition to their placement at CAI, students will engage in learning content online and in-person to expand their knowledge of learning theory, digital pedagogy, assessment of learning, and curriculum design. Students will also develop practical skills in a variety of software tools used to develop materials for online learning. As a culmination of these efforts, students will develop a personal portfolio that showcases their learning and project work.
