Create a better and more peaceful world. The International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

Learning experience design is an exciting field at the nexus of design, learning theory, and educational technology. In order to prepare learning experience designers capable of designing for online and technology-enhanced learning environments, the University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation and the School of Education have partnered to offer a graduate certificate program in Learning Experience Design.

The Trauma-Informed Practice Certificate supports future practitioners in their efforts to educate and care for children and youth whose lives have been impacted by trauma.

Endorsements

Interns may elect the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement by completing a sequence of courses and fieldwork, focused on English Language Development (ELD), during their elementary or secondary certification programs at the undergraduate or master’s levels. Fully approved by the State of Michigan, the ELD Coursework is a 20-credit, six course and practicum sequence, which meets Michigan state standards and prepares interns to take the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) ESL exam.

Michigan Alternate Route to Certification (M-ARC)

Established in 2010 at the University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education, Michigan Alternate Route to Certification (M-ARC) is Michigan’s longest-running state-approved alternative route to certification program. Our program supports teachers’ growth by merging the Marsal School's over 100 years of experience preparing educators with the accessibility of an alternative pathway.
