WCMU public radio reports on the EdHub town hall.
State leaders and education experts discussed making it easier for out-of-state teachers to work in Michigan at the EdHub's virtual town hall on April 6, reports WCMU’s Rick Brewer. It was one of the ideas to help address the state’s teacher shortage. State Superintendent Michael Rice said in the previous year, over 1,000 teachers in Michigan who were certified elsewhere couldn’t teach in-state. He says there are bills in the Michigan senate that could get those teachers in classes sooner.
