The Building a Professional System for Entry to Beginning Teaching project seeks to ensure that all youth get skillful teaching every year by building a system for entry to beginning teaching. The project has two components: (1) the Transforming Educator Licensure (TEL) project, a partnership with Educational Testing Service (ETS) to create and implement new licensure assessments to establish a professional threshold for entry to the classroom based on specific high-leverage instructional practices; (2) program networks, partnerships with a range of teacher preparation programs that will work together and with TeachingWorks to develop curriculum and approaches for preparing skillful beginning teachers.
