This study investigates the role of curriculum materials and associated professional development in helping elementary teachers transition to using project-based approaches in social studies and content-area literacy instruction. This study will examine how project-based curriculum materials and connected supports serve as resources in instruction, as well as how teachers' engagement with these supports contributes to their learning and thinking about project-based instruction. This study will have implications for those who design resources to support teachers' learning of complex instructional approaches that involve significant shifts in practice.
