Karabenick will work with faculty at Bowling Green State University on project iEvolve, an NSF grant devoted to improving student performance in science through the adoption of a “citizen science” model supported by teacher professional development. His role will focus on the assessment of student of motivation, self-regulated learning, and engagement in science. A specific contribution will be the development of ways to measure elementary students’ changing conceptions of what it means to “do science.”
