Collaborative Research: Accelerating the Pace of Research and Implementation of Writing-to-Learn Pedagogies Across STEM Disciplines

This project intends to implement “writing-to- learn” strategies into large, introductory courses. In addition to implementing writing-to-learn strategies in the classroom, the project measures its effect on students’ comprehension. It is expected that the project will improve students’ comprehension of important concepts and increase the retention rate of students in STEM fields. A national network of science teachers interested in writing-to-learn techniques will be created as well.
