Stephanie became the first Research Development Manager at the School of Education in 2017. Her position sits in the Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER), a research development center created in 2014. Within SOE she helps faculty members find funding opportunities for their research, assists with many aspects of proposal preparation, including positioning and budget creation, and promotes faculty members’ work. When faculty from other U-M schools and colleges want to collaborate with SOE faculty or staff, Stephanie helps to find the right connection.

Stephanie spent the first 15 years of her career managing a language and literacy research program. She managed all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the research lab and worked to obtain grant funding for moving the science forward. After the research program closed its doors in 2016, Stephanie stayed at the School of Education and moved to CEDER to help build the capacity for research within SOE, on U-M campuses, and in the community.

Stephanie graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in both Linguistics and Communication Studies, and completed her MA in Literacy, Language, and Culture from the University of Michigan School of Education in 2005. On campus she represents SOE on the Research Administration Advisory Council Committee-at-large and on the U-M Research Development Core Group. She is a member of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP).
