Shannon Van Gundy is an academic advisor in the School of Education Office of Student Affairs. She supports Master’s students in Educational Studies (ES), the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education (CSHPE), and our Learning Experience Design (LXD) Graduate Certificate program. Shannon is energized by forming caring relationships with students and finding creative solutions when challenges arise. Her hope is that students feel welcome from the time their advising appointments begin and empowered to take the next steps in their education by the time they leave her office. She is passionate about social justice, educational equity, and student well-being.
Shannon is a CSHPE alumnae who pursued a concentration in Student Access and Success. Before joining the School of Education, she worked at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion programming for undergraduate business students.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, growing her collection of houseplants, and walking with her rescue dog, Milo.
