Nicole Farach leads the math team at TeachingWorks. In this role, she supervises a team of research specialists and doctoral students who do curriculum development, professional development, and research in the field of teacher education and mathematics education. She also works directly with preservice and practicing teachers around the country as a coach and professional development provider.

Prior to joining TeachingWorks, Nicole worked with the Bank Street College of Education and the social policy research organization MDRC as a Pre-K math coach, supervisor of Kindergarten math club facilitators, and curriculum coordinator on a project aimed at improving long-term outcomes for children living in poverty in New York City. She has trained leaders and teachers for the City University of New York's Professional Development Institute in partnership with the New York City Department of Education and taught in various elementary settings. She has also taught graduate students at CUNY’s School of Professional Studies and Hunter College.

Nicole believes that learners of all ages thrive when provided with opportunities to reflect and collaborate, and through active engagement with materials. She holds an MA in Child Development from Sarah Lawrence College and a BA from Lehigh University in Sociology and Social Psychology.
