Baljit’s responsibilities include providing support services to students, administrative support services to faculty, support CSHPE events, and manage files and records. She handles many aspects of teachers and students. Works with students on directing them to resources to address their academic needs, supporting student programs and initiatives, and obtaining director’s signature on forms, preparing, and distributing student annual review letters. She also provides administrative support to the CSHPE PhD and Masters Admissions Committee, including staff meetings, drafting agendas and timetables. Baljit serves as a first point of contact for the Center, support the mission of the program, assist the Director with project specific to the improvement of student-centered programming and curriculum projects.
Baljit has a deep commitment to educational equity and is extremely motivated to help others to succeed. She approaches all aspects of any job with a positive, hard-working mindset, and is passionate about helping find solutions to any challenges. She is a highly approachable person who has a pleasant attitude, and a willingness to make a positive mark.
Prior to her role at the School of Education, Baljit worked at Madonna University in the Office of Student Life with International Students. She is an alum of the University of Michigan, graduating in 2017 with Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. Baljit is a powerful force in the workplace and organized many interfaith and intercultural programs to promote and celebrate diversity, which further helps students to develop sense of belonging on the campus!
