Ariel joined the CEDER team as the UMEdHub Program Manager in March of 2021. In her position with CEDER, Ariel is responsible for coordinating efforts to kick start the UMEdHub and will work with faculty and partners to cultivate a culture within the School of Education that is responsive to the innovative nature of virtual education in the 21st century.

Previously, Ariel spent four years at the College of Literature, Science, and Arts at UM where she gained a depth of experience in Program Management. She coordinated the Transfer Bridges to the Humanities@Michigan program at LSA, a bilateral collaboration between Henry Ford College and UM to implement a $1.6M Mellon Foundation-funded initiative to support transfer students. And, at the International Institute, she was responsible for the administration of DISC (Digital Islamic Studies Curriculum), another Mellon initiative ($3M) to offer virtual Islamic Studies courses across the Big Ten via videoconferencing. She most recently joined us from the Stamps School of Art & Design where she worked alongside the Research Associate Dean to support research related projects.

Ariel completed her MA in higher education at the University of Michigan Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education in April of 2019 and also holds a BA in anthropology and Arabic, Armenia, Persian, Turkish and Islamic Studies from UM. She is proficient in Spanish and Arabic and in the last 10 years, Ariel has lived, worked, and studied in 18 countries across 6 continents. Her unique background supports her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion endeavors here at the University of Michigan and her efforts have been recognized as a recipient of the LSA Distinguished Diversity Leadership Award.
