The year 1921 was a promising year in Ann Arbor. The "war to end all wars" was over and the Roaring 20s, a decade of unprecedented optimism, had begun.
The University of Michigan was 104 years old and was acknowledged as one of the great universities of the nation. And, on July 1, upon the recommendation of University President Marion Leroy Burton, the Board of Regents established the Schoool of Education.
