Susan Dynarski publishes article on student debt in NYT

Professor Susan Dynarski published an article in the New York Times in May 6. “The Wrong Way to Fix Student Debt” considers the impact of Trump administration regulatory changes on the millions of Americans owing student loans. Dynarski points to weakened accountability for the companies that administer student loans; increased difficulty for borrowers to apply for, and stay enrolled in, income-based payment plans; and more leeway to charge borrowers high fees—as much as 16 percent of the balance owed.

Susan Dynarski is Professor, School of Education; Professor of Public Policy, Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy; Professor, Department of Economics, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
