SOE Student Minh Huynh among the first recipients of the Ma Scholarship

Minh Huynh is a PhD student in educational studies who was among the first three U-M graduate students to receive the Ma Scholarship, which was established at Rackham Graduate School in 2016 by U-M alumnus Karl Ma. Mr. Ma’s gift is intended to support Asian graduate students who want to work in public service arenas and who will work to preserve Asian cultures.

Huynh’s work focuses on global educational governance and policy discourse. “I am very proud and grateful to receive the award,” he says, “as it not only helps me cover the expenses for my semesters doing research and internship abroad, but it also pays special recognition to the work that I am doing and its potential of contributing to the common good. I had a chance to have an interview with Mr. Ma in September, and I am both grateful to and impressed by his commitment to public service.”

Minh Huynh is Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies, Educational Foundations and Policy
