SOE a leader in 2018 U.S. News rankings
The 2018 U.S. News and World Report rankings for “Best Graduate Schools,” released on March 14, again reveal the University of Michigan School of Education as one of the top education colleges in the country. The school’s reputational ranking continues to be the highest of any public university. On the peer assessment, Michigan and Harvard are tied for 2nd. On the administrator/expert assessment Michigan is tied for 2nd with Harvard, Vanderbilt, and UC-Berkeley.
The School of Education is currently tied for 15th in the overall rankings, and 7th among public universities. The school has seven highly-ranked specialty programs, including the 1st ranked program in higher education administration, the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education.

For the rankings of graduate education programs, 379 schools granting doctoral degrees were surveyed in fall 2016 and early 2017.
