Handi Kurniawan publishes third book


Handi Kurniawan, a master’s student in New Media & New Literacies, launched his third book in Indonesia titled, The Brain Master. This book describes his conversations with Dr. Eka Wahjoepramono, a leading neurosurgeon from Indonesia who is the first person in Southeast Asia to successfully remove a tumor from a human brainstem. Since 2001, Dr. Eka has successfully operated on 50 brainstem tumors with a 100% success rate.

Dr. Eka, who is also Dean of the University of Pelita Harapan Medical School and Chairman of Indonesia Brain Foundation, discusses leadership, health, and his concerns about education and healthcare. Kurniawan's book was distributed to the audience at the nationally broadcasted Kick Andy Show on Metro TV in Indonesia.

Kurniawan is also the author of national bestselling books Go Global - Guide to a successful international career and Global Career - Take your career to the global stage. His mission is to inspire and help Indonesians achieve better education, global careers, and competencies equivalent to the world-class talent. During the last two semesters at the SOE, he has also published two articles: “Traditional and digital literacy” and “Forget about literacy ranking, focus on what really matters.”
