Dean Elizabeth Birr Moje was interviewed on the Michigan Radio show Stateside about plans for a new teacher training model based on medical education.

In the interview, Moje described how her proposed teaching residency program would be structured to support the development of interns and resident teachers and to provide an exceptional learning environment for K-12 students. With the goal of recruiting and retaining highly-qualified teachers in urban schools, Moje is building off earlier innovations that she developed with Professor Bob Bain, also based on medical education.

Moje stresses the importance of working closely with a school district and says she hopes to do this work in Detroit.

Elizabeth Birr Moje is George Herbert Mead Collegiate Professor of Education and Arthur F. Thurnau Professor; Dean of the School of Education
