Applying For The Bachelor's Degree

All undergraduate students apply for the degree by filling out and submitting the online graduation application accessed through Wolverine Access.

Online Graduation Application Instructions

  • Use a web browser to access Wolverine Access. In Wolverine Access, select Student Business and then login using your uniqname and UMICH (Kerberos) password.
  • Once in Wolverine Access, click on the Student Center tile. Use the dropdown menu called "other academic…" and choose Apply to Graduate. Click the GO button.
  • Select the program for which you wish to apply for graduation.
  • Select your Expected Graduation Term and complete any name instructions.
  • Once the graduation application is complete, click Submit Application.

The application for a bachelor's degree is to be completed and submitted as follows:

Applying For The Doctoral Degree

The application for a doctoral degree is usually completed and submitted just prior to or during attendance at the Rackham Post-Defense Meeting. For more information about the Rackham Post-Defense Meeting, visit Completing the Doctoral Degree Requirements.

A complete listing of all Rackham Doctoral Degree Deadlines and information can be found online.

Doctoral students who meet the Rackham Doctoral Degree Deadline dates of:

  • September 26, 2016 *or* November 14, 2016 should apply for Fall 2016 degree conferral; degree conferral date December 18, 2016
  • January 24, 2017 *or* April 4, 2017 should apply for Winter 2017 degree conferral; degree conferral date April 28, 2017
  • May 22, 2017 *or* August 4, 2017 should apply for Summer 2017 degree conferral; degree conferral date August 18, 2017

Applying For The Master's Degree

All graduate students apply for the degree by filling out and submitting the online graduation application accessed through Wolverine Access.

Elementary and Secondary Master of Arts with Certification (MAC) Teaching Interns

Interns who matriculated in summer 2016 will be enrolled in courses to complete the Master's Degree Program in the spring 2017 and should apply to graduate in summer 2017.

Teach for America (TFA) Detroit Corps Members

Corps members who matriculated in Winter 2016 will be enrolled in courses to complete the master's degree program in the Spring 2017 and should apply to graduate in Summer 2017.

ES or CSHPE doctoral students who are fulfilling the requirements for an education master's degree

Schedule a master's degree audit appointment with your Graduate Records Coordinator to review the coursework requirements for the degree. This appointment should be scheduled early in the term in which you plan to receive the degree. Once an active education master's program has been created, the student will be notified so that he/she can apply for conferral of the master's degree.
