Master’s-Level Teacher Certification Options

Elementary Master of Arts with Certification (ELMAC)

An intensive 12-month program that prepares students for teacher certification in grades K-8 in self-contained, multi-subject classrooms and grades 6-8 in subject-specific classrooms.

Secondary Master of Arts with Certification (Secondary MAC)

An intensive 12-month program that prepares students for teacher certification in secondary classrooms.

Building-level Administrator Certification (Educational Leadership and Policy)

Our program prepares graduates for many types of leadership roles in careers inside and outside of schools including principalship, instructional coach, program developer, policy analyst, social advocate, or educational entrepreneur.

Educational Studies and MBA (Dual Degree)

The University of Michigan School of Education and the Stephen M. Ross School of Business combine to offer a unique dual-degree program leading to both the master of arts in educational studies and the master of business administration degrees.
